Jeffrey D. Moore

Co-Founder & CPA

Born and raised on a ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska, Jeff graduated from McPherson County High School in Tryon, NE. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE in 1998. After college, he worked in the commercial and agricultural lending department of a Nebraska bank, as well as the accounting department. In 1998, his wife Rayan and he moved to North Platte, NE, where they raised two children. In 2002 he obtained his certificate while he was working at a Nebraska-based CPA firm. After receiving his certificate, he went to work as a Chief Financial Officer for a company in North Platte, NE, with a variety of industries they were involved in – including hotels, convenience stores, quick service restaurants, construction company, commercial rental property, and fuel transportation. During the 14 years as CFO, he continued to prepare tax returns on a seasonal basis for a local CPA firm.

Cortney Davis

CPA

Cortney started with Aspyr Professional Group in our Hastings location in January of 2019. Prior to joining Aspyr Professional Group, Cortney had a mix of both public and private accounting experience. She worked in public accounting for 5 years, prior to joining the private sector for 2 years. Cortney graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance. She went on to receive her Certified Public Accountant designation. Cortney (a Hastings native) and her husband, Eric, live in Hastings with their two sons, Jennings and Sullivan.

Shannon W. Meyer

CPA

Shannon grew up on a farm and cattle operation in central Nebraska. He graduated from Bertrand Community High School in 1993, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with Accounting Emphasis from Hastings College in 1997, and then graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Master of Professional Accountancy degree in 1998. Shannon has over 20 years of experience working for a Big 4 CPA firm, during which time he was based in Lincoln, Nebraska (1998-2007), Brussels, Belgium (2008-2011) and then Minneapolis, Minnesota (2012-2019). Serving a wide variety of clients and industries, Shannon has a diverse background in US corporate, partnership, individual, trust, estate and gift taxation. He specializes in agricultural tax compliance/planning and international individual taxation. Drawing upon his Big 4 expatriate knowledge and multiple assignments to India and Belgium, Shannon is uniquely qualified to advise on international tax reporting and planning for US citizens residing abroad and foreign nationals residing in the US.
